I am a writer and editor from Florida with a background in digital marketing, graphic design, and art. I currently work as the lead editor and creative developer for the tabletop game Lore CCG, and I also write and copyedit for a freelancing business. My experience has ranged from technical subjects to hobbies and fiction, having contributed to publications like Gems&Jewellery and the University of Central Florida’s Stylus. Examples from these projects and others can be found in Work.
My foremost priority when acting as an editor is to preserve my author’s intent. I aim not to change an author’s vision, but to amplify it. Although I've always taken great pleasure in the more tedious aspects of grammar, I began my career in editing at a place of empathy, with a desire to elevate unique and underrepresented voices. Accomplishing this goal requires a level of respect for the source material and its creator that is often overlooked in more prescriptivist environments; it requires real communication and collaboration. In the words of The Chicago Manual of Style's own Carol Saller, successful editing hinges on three things: carefulness, transparency, and flexibility. That's the motto that I live by.
